FROM A GLORIOUS PAST TO A BRIGHT FUTURE

Thirty-two years is almost a full generation, but it is a small period in the history of a Navy. The Submarine Arm can justly be proud of its achievements in the short span that it has served the nation. An insistence on the highest standards, an unrelenting adherence to professionalism, the ability to strive and endure hardship these are the qualities that have been instilled in the submariners of today by those who have gone before them.

Of course there are challenges posed by the turbulent developments of recent times. But submariners have always worked best under pressure whether of the ocean depths or the pressure of professional challenges. The Indian Navy has a major task in safeguarding our country’s Maritime interests, which are wide ranging and complex. There is every confidence that the Submarine Arm will overcome all difficulties and fulfill all tasks and missions within the overall Naval role in the defence of the country. The wake astern is straight and true the Arm has steered a proper course, and held it steadily. Ahead, the horizon is clear, and the track well charted, as the Submarine Arm sails confidently towards a bright future.
